Thrilled to win the Ethel Turner Prize for Young People’s Literature at the 2023 NSW Premier’s Literary Awards last night. Hello $30,000!
Congrats to the other winners, especially First Nations’ writers who took out these categories:
– Debra Dank (4 awards!)
– Dylen Van Deb Berg (playwright)
– Corey Tutt & Blak Douglas (Children’s Lit)
Thanks for the yarns Uncle Bud Marshall, Sarah Wright, Lara Daley and Paul Hodge for the yarns and gifting me your book.
Thanks Indigenous fibre artist Norton @retritus for creating my beautiful ‘Scribbly Gum’ shawl—dyed with Country, which I proudly purchased for this event.
